Beaches and Waterparks
Konnos beach- Blue Flag
Situated 4 kilometres east of Ayia Napa on the road between Cape Greco and Protaras, Konnos is the last beach delineating the boundaries between Ayia Napa and Paralimni. One of the most picturesque beaches on the island, it is well sheltered from heavy winds and has practically no waves at all. Water sports, sun bed and umbrella hire are available on site. There are restaurants and convenience stores nearby while lifeguards are on duty with lifesaving equipment from 10am to 6pm during the bathing season.
Nissi beach- Blue Flag
Ayia Napa has some of the best beaches in Europe, maybe the best. Nissi Beach is located 2 kilometres west of Ayia Napa and attracts thousands of tourists every year. This 600 metres long 40 metres wide beach is covered with fine golden sand. It is well sheltered from the wind and has calm waters. Water sports, sun bed and umbrella hire are available on site. There is also a diving school nearby. Lifeguards are on duty with lifesaving equipment from 10am to 6pm during the bathing season.
Agia Thekla Beach- Blue Flag
Located 3 kilometres west of the centre of Ayia Napa, Agia Thekla is a small beach named after a tiny old church situated nearby. Seas are calm and if you seek for a quiet place to sunbathe this is the place for you. Lifeguards are on duty with lifesaving equipment from 10am to 6pm during the bathing season. Beach and water sports facilities are also available while a convenience store is located close by. The beach is within walking distance from the main road leading to Ayia Napa and is accessible by car, motorbike and bicycle as well as on foot.
Grecian Bay Beach
The main beach in Ayia Napa and the one closest to the town centre is Grecian Bay. It is made up of a long stretch of fine white sands which spreads from the harbour Eastwards towards the Ayia Napa Sea Caves. The sand gently shelves into the sea making it safe and popular for families with children. At the beach, there are several restaurants, kiosks and snack bars, where you can enjoy lunch or refreshments. Lifeguards and watersports are also available at this beach.
Located on the outskirts of Ayia Napa, Waterworld was the first waterpark to open in Cyprus. The theme is Ancient Greece, with every one of its 20 attractions depicting a Greek mythological tale. New rides are added each year, so don't be surprised if you find more than you expected! After the huge success of Drop To Atlantis, the Aeolos Whirlpool was introduced to much acclaim.
Also popular are the transparent Phaethon's Flume and Fall Of Icarus, the unique boomerang ride. For the adrenalin junkie, the high-thrill kamikaze slides are not to be missed; for the less adventurous, the Lazy River offers relaxation for all the family. Toddlers aren't left out either, as both the Trojan Adventure and Pegasus Pool will keep them entertained for hours.
