December has arrived with 22°C in Cyprus!
Today is 1st of December and winter has now officially arrived in Cyprus, although we entered the new month with temperatures reaching 22°C.
In Cyprus the winter is a special time, as you can spend the morning in the Troodos mountains in the snow with skiing and the afternoon can be spent at the beach soaking up the sunshine.
With winter temperatures around 20°C, beautiful nature, plenty of cultural sights, and fun activities, a winter holiday in Cyprus is a guaranteed memorable getaway for everyone!
Cyprus has plenty of sunshine even during the winter, and is a great choice for those who want sun, but do not enjoy the summer heat. Winter in Cyprus lasts from December to February, and even during that time, the weather is mild. There is the possibility for a few days of rain in the winter, however these are very rare and will not last very long.
If you are a nature lover Cyprus is a wonderful holiday destination in the winter, as the landscape transforms from dry and dusty into lush and green.
Possibly a surprising sport to associate with sunny Cyprus is skiing, but there are excellent opportunities to be found in the Troodos Mountains. The snow on Mount Olympus, 1952 metres high, is great during the winter, with facilities open from January through to March. There are four ski lifts and slopes that range from beginner to advanced, including the daunting ‘Zeus’ on the north face of Mount Olympus.
